Slingsby & Wright Eye Care Center
Construction began in June 2002, on the 16,000 SF medical facility for Dr. Slingsby and Dr. Wright and was completed mid-January 2003.
The building is wood frame construction with brick veneer, EIFS and stained cedar siding at the exterior. Interior provided 3 separate designated areas; Optical Exam, Optometry Sales/Dispensing and Laser Surgery Center.
The interior walls are a combination of painted gyp with accent walls and vinyl wall coverings. Floor coverings are carpet, ceramic tile and VCT in the majority of the areas with exception of the surgical areas, which consist of welded sheet vinyl and epoxy resin.
Varying rooflines were a major point of focus for the exterior design. Dr. Slingsby also wanted vaulted ceilings in designated public areas to be tied to cherry stained oak millwork and trims. Tongue and groove boards were installed in the vaulted areas and stained a matching color as the oak base, chair rails and outside protective covers. Custom made casework with plastic laminate and ceramic tile tops were used extensively throughout all areas of the building. Oak edging and built in shelves was also stained to match the balance of the millwork and ceiling. Gustafson Builders appreciates the fine craftsmanship that is apparent throughout the new medical facility. Congratulations and thanks to Marty Leberknight, Mark Woodruff, Wendall Schock, Galen Irish, Jeff Herron and Jim Bergman for their finish carpentry work.
